Welsh properties used to house criminals and suspects in secret – WalesOnline

The media panic about BASS continues- in Wales now. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, why is it so worrying that ‘there are EIGHT properties being used in Wales to house criminals on early release or suspects awaiting trial’ (Welsh properties used to house criminals and suspects in secret) when there are literally thousands of private residences being used for exactly the same purpose when someone who is not homeless is granted bail or early release?

If I was confident that people actually understood what BASS was all about I would be suprised that they are so bothered- surely people don’t consider homeless people to be so low in the social strata to deserve remand more than a non-homeless person. The only answer is that the media has latched onto this scheme because they can drum up a bit fear mongering.

Why on earth should the exact locations of the properties be published? So people can go round and hammer on their doors accusing them of being dirty shoplifters and petty criminals- because that’s what  most of these people have done. They’re not paedophiles, violent criminals or probably even burglers.
